Once you’ve placed an order with us, we want to make sure that the shipment receives any special services you require and that it arrives as quickly and safely as possible to your delivery location. We get discounted freight rates from several carriers, and we’re happy to share them with you! These rates are most cost-effective when shipping a full pallet of coffee (600kg). If you already have an account with a trucking company or freight expediter, just give us your account number to put on the paperwork.

Orders must be placed by 3:00 PM (EST/EDT) for next day shipment.

– Update your delivery address as necessary to make sure we are shipping to the correct location.
– Let us know if you need any special services such as lift gate, short truck, residential delivery, etc. so they can be set up accordingly. Although these services cost a little extra, they can go a long way toward giving you a smoother delivery experience.

– LTL (Less than a Truck Load) orders shipping with a trucking company are palletized and shrink-wrapped to protect your coffee (strapping is also available).
– Customer pickups can be palletized or floor loaded, let us know what you prefer. If floor loading is selected, please be prepared to assist warehouse personnel to get the bag(s) into your vehicle.

– Our shipments are made on a FOT (Free on Truck) Warehouse basis. This means Lucatelli Coffee will pay for the cost of preparing and loading your coffee order onto the truck. Ownership of the coffee transfers to you, the buyer, at that time. Shipping charges and insurance coverage from our warehouse to your location are for the buyer’s account.

– Orders shipped from our Florida warehouse is “Freight Collect” and freight charges need to be paid at the time of delivery.
– When your order is delivered, please check the shipment thoroughly. If your order arrives with damaged bags, incorrect bags, or any other problems, please call our office immediately before the truck driver leaves. Photograph and video everything. We will assist you with any notes you need to put on the delivery receipt.

– For customers placing larger orders (150 bags floor loaded or palletized), we are able to offer spot freight rate quotes from several carriers for dedicated, full truckload service. Please speak with us as early as possible before the requested shipping date as this service can require appointments with both the trucking company and our warehouse.
OMG Even More Details
If you wish to pay for your order before 30 days, we offer a 2% discount off the value of the coffee for orders paid within 10 days of the issuance of the Bill of Lading, which is issued when the coffee is picked up from our warehouse. We also offer a 1% discount off the value of the coffee for orders paid within 20 days of the issuance of the Bill of Lading. We do not offer discounts for early payment of the shipping portion of your bill because that cost is fixed by the third party shipper.
Your purchase implies that you understand and agree to the following terms:
Buying spot means the coffee is fully released and can be shipped to you immediately. Buying reserve is an alternative way to order. As you may know, some coffees are not always available year round for spot purchase. To ensure that your supply will fall in-line with your demand, buying reserve is very appealing. We will provide you with a sale confirmation to verify your purchase for future delivery. When your coffee becomes in-store or spot we will notify you and request your shipping instructions.
Please note that our billing is from date of availability, not shipment or arrival at your location.

Outbound freight shipments are made on an FOT (Free Onboard Truck) basis from our warehouse locations. This means the freight charges will be paid by you, the Consignee, upon delivery of your shipment (i.e. “Freight Collect”). These are classified as LTL or Less than a Truck Load. Unless otherwise requested, your order is palletized, strapped, and shrink-wrapped to protect it during transit.

We have outbound discounts established with several trucking lines that we can suggest; however, the choice is ultimately left up to you. We will give you the best option, in our view, based upon a balance of factors, including days to deliver, price, and reputation of carrier. If you have special requirements for your delivery (i.e. lift gate, short truck, residential delivery, etc.), please inform us when placing your order so that we can get the best available rate that fits your needs. We verify every order with your designated trucker to ensure that your order has been picked up. We can also provide you with the freight rate, quote number and a pro number (this will help you track your delivery in a timely fashion).

Single bag orders which do not require palletization are shipped in their jute and Grain-Pro bags. For smaller less than 180kg/400lbs, these will be shipped via UPS, USPS, or FedEx. We will give you the lowest and second lowest rates and let you decide which one you prefer. If you have an account, we can use it to ship your order. Otherwise, we will bill and charge you for the shipping costs along with the product.

Always check that your shipping address is accurate and provide any other information that Lucatelli Coffee needs to ship your order properly. Returned shipments are subject to freight and/or restocking charges. Please be aware that if you are roasting at your residence and do not declare that your delivery is at a residence or a hard-to-reach location, you will incur a penalty in most cases from the shipper.

Please also be aware that, by industry regulation, trucking companies are not required to unload your freight at the time of delivery. Please be prepared to unload your order or request additional services such as lift gate, inside delivery, etc. There is generally an extra charge from the trucking company for these services and they may also impact your transit time.

When your order arrives, please inspect it right away and sign the delivery receipt only if all is in good order. Write any exceptions directly on the freight receipt in case a claim needs to be filed. If there is any damage, note it and photograph it if at all possible. If you have any other questions or problems, please call our office immediately.

Customer pickups can be made at our warehouse for free. Please contact us for hours of operation and the desired pickup location. The warehouse will load out palletized freight; for floor loaded orders, please be prepared to assist with loading product into your vehicle.

If the Grain-Pro poly bag inside the jute bag has been punctured in the shipping process, or if a bag of coffee arrives damaged beyond the ability to be roasted, we will help you to open a case with the trucking company. Take photos before the truck leaves your delivery location, including the truck, and call us and we will help you. We do not guarantee the shipments of third-party shipping companies. We do guarantee the shipments of our own logistics company, Lucatelli Logistics.

The lot number printed on the coffee bag should match the lot number printed on your sample bag. If it does not, please document this and choose if you prefer to return the unopened coffee bag to us for a full refund or receive a credit for a return and then receive the coffee which matches the sample bag.

Your approval of the sample provided in advance of your order is the same as your approval of the coffee you receive in your order, provided the lot numbers are the same. If you approved the sample and the order received is from that same lot number, no refund or exchange will be given unless you return the unopened bags to Lucatelli Coffee.
